Resources

Below you will find an ever growing list of resources that I recommend for learning about, and healing attachment. I do not aim to hold secrets in what it takes to heal our system. This is information that needs to be spread far and wide.

Here’s one of the interviews I’ve done lately With Holly Inez from The Unfolding podcast.

Podcasts

The Therapist Uncensored - One of the best podcasts about attachment out there. Lots of interviews with the experts in the field. And it’s very applicable to life and relationships.

George Haas with MettaGroup.org. He is the absolute best. His podcast is focused on the intersection of Buddhism and attachment theory. His teachings are incredibly articulate and the attachment focused classes are a hidden treasure. Highest recommendations.

Deb Dana: Befriending Your Nervous System You cannot talk about attachment without talking about regulation and safety. Deb’s work builds personalized maps that walk you through the science of safety.

The Science of Psychotherapy Podcast: While this podcast is geared more towards practicing psychotherapists and healers, it has really useful conversations with some of biggest names in the field of attachment and mental health.

Attachment Theory in Action: Another great resource to listen to in depth material about practical attachment theory.

Books

Polyvagal Theory in Therapy and Anchored by Deb Dana: Her works are a very practical application of Polyvagal Theory. Working her maps will bring a large amount of awareness to what we need to stay regulated and feeling safe.

The Heart of Trauma: Healing the Embodied Brain in the Context of Relationships by Bonnie Badenoch: Her work is a really great resource for understanding and working through held trauma interpersonally. Solid intro to the field of interpersonal neurobiology and the leading edges of somatic healing.

Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication by Oren Jay Sofer: This book on communication is a master work on how to communicate your needs in a way that invites someone to meet them. It’s basically a book on attachment communication without ever saying attachment.

Getting to Zero: How to Work Through Conflict in Your High-Stakes Relationships by Jayson Gaddis. Having a structure to follow when things get difficult can radically change how we have conflict in our most important relationships.

The Power of Showing Up: How Parental Presence Shapes Who Our Kids Become and How Their Brains Get Wired by Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson: The title sums it up pretty well. A great resource for parents
